Easter Recap

Hello, lovely readers! Hope you all had a beautiful Easter weekend. Easter is such a special time and is one of our favorite holidays. After all we are celebrating one of the most important events in history. The resurrection of Jesus and His sacrifice that gave us everlasting life! Our weekend began early. Haley had Spring Break last week so it made it easier to attend our Thursday-Sunday church services. The weekend was also full of egg hunts, games, toys, photos with a big fluffy bunny, and lots of candy!

Maundy Thursday

Maundy, also known as Holy, Thursday, is the remembrance of the Last Supper and the betrayal of Jesus.

Good Friday

The day to remember the crucifixion. Jon and I had been debating whether to let Haley watch "The Passion of the Christ". We love the way movie was done, however, there is a lot of violence and our kids are not allowed to watch anything rated R. They actually don't watch anything rated PG-13, minus a few exceptions and with adult supervision. So we didn't want to traumatize her. She begged for us to let her watch it, especially after the message during Friday's service, and assured us that she was ready. So she watched it with Jon and I. She definitely got emotional at the end. After the movie, she asked questions and we all prayed together. She later told me that even though it was really hard for her to watch in some parts, she was glad she did. That she understood better when they use the words "suffer" and "sacrifice" at church.

Holy Saturday

Saturday night's service was the candlelight vigil and remembering the time that Jesus spent in the tomb. This is late service (and waaay past bedtimes) so we made sure that the boys had a late afternoon nap. They did so well at all of the services. So proud of them!

Easter Sunday

Resurrection Day!!! Our redeemer lives! This day was emotional for me. When you truly understand the sacrifice that was made for us, it can be an overwhelming feeling. At this point, the kids were pretty done with pictures (if you can't tell).

How handsome is this guy? I am one lucky gal! P.S. There's a cute little bow-tie hiding under that beard!

Here are some other random pictures of our Easter festivities.

Think he's egg-cited? Hehe

He found the silver egg!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Happy easter!

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:25-26
