I created this blog to share life moments and new experiences with family and friends. Then I started using it as a journal to reflect whatever I was feeling at the moment. Now it has become an outlet for creativity. I have many hobbies and I love being creative in any way I can. I look forward to sharing my interests and new Mommy experiences with you. You will find everything here: jokes, funny/sad/happy stories, photos and my journey of becoming a better photographer, arts and crafts ideas, recipes, blog tips/tutorials, lesson plans (for those of you who plan on homeschooling or home-preschooling your children), and so much more! Thank you all for choosing to share life with me.
Pathological picture-taker and Mother to the world's cutest little girl. I feel like I have already accomplished many things. I have done a lot, seen a lot and have been to a lot of places. Some people call me restless, I see it as a desire to learn anything about everything. I thirst for knowledge. I have a deep longing to experience new things. I have worked hard to do everything I have wanted to do, and along with that came hard times as well. It has been a very long and windy road. I love God, my family, scrapbooking, cooking, photography, music, reading, hockey, shopping, chocolate, everything creative, coffee, camping, fishing, dirt bikes, and sharing in all of these things with other people. I am completely obsessed with collecting as many cookbooks as I can and I love Oreos and milk before I go to bed. Working hard with my husband to provide a good life for us and our children. We are considered a "mixed" family in that we both have children from previous relationships. He has a son and I have a daughter, and together that makes up our wonderful little family. However, that does not mean that everything is sunshine and rainbows. Like all families, we have to work hard (maybe even a little harder) and we are learning as we go. But there is one thing I am certain of - I wouldn't want anyone else by my side through it all.
The newest addition to the family! Like his sister, he loves to cuddle and be close to people. Although still a newborn, he sleeps for most of the night and is awake for most of the day (and yes, I am very grateful for that!). He's been very alert since the day he was born, so finding things to keep him busy during the day that are age-appropriate can be a challenge. He spends hours smiling and trying to talk. He is the happiest baby on Earth when people talk to him. He is already trying to mimic and copy certain faces and sounds. He's not a big crier unless he's hungry, and in that case he will definitely let you know! We are all totally in love with this little guy. I could not have asked for a more precious baby boy!
Born in April of 2009. She is a happy, energetic, way-too-smart-for-her-age, loving little cuddle bug. People think that she is twice her actual age because she is so mature. She is extremely independent. She loves to be doing anything outdoors and is really outgoing. Maybe a little too much! She likes to get dressed-up and then run-around and play 'til she is dirty. She'll play in the mud, but screams at the sight of any bug. She is the girliest tomboy you will ever meet. She would rather sit and talk to a bunch of adults instead of playing in her room FULL of toys. She has always been a very good and easy-going baby with a smile on her face from the moment she wakes up in the morning, to the moment she goes to sleep at night. Along with being incredibly smart, comes the attitude of thinking she knows everything already. The teenage years are going to be fun! But she is very nurturing and loves helping people. It makes her sad to see others sad. She will do whatever she can to cheer you up and succeeds every time. God has blessed me beyond what I deserve!
You know how we always hear (but don't actually believe in) that saying, "When you meet the right one, you'll just know?" Well, it is true. That is exactly what happened when I met Jon - an often quiet, hard working, video game nerd whose main priority is family. A man who has no problem working 2 jobs while going to school so that he can take care of the ones he loves. A man who doesn't let anything get him down and who can see the positive in any situation. A man who does not judge and who just accepts people for who and what they are. He has been an inspiration in our lives since Punkin was only a year old and is working towards his career goal of being a Navy Chaplain. He loves sports, reading and building computers (I told you he was a nerd!). While we have a lot in common and share the same morals and values, we are also opposite in a lot of ways. Really, he has all of the traits that I sometimes lack so the end result is someone who actually does complete me as my other half. He is my best friend and an amazing father to our children.
Perfect nickname for him since 'J' is not only his first initial, but also because he is an exact mini of his dad - in looks and personality. Little J is the son I gained when I married Jon. He had just turned 3 years old when Punkin and I were blessed to have him added to our family. Like his dad, he is a quiet, laid-back child. He enjoys all the things little boys usually do - animals, dinosaurs and superheroes. Punkin loves playing with him. I continue to pray that our family can be good role models and that positive influence throughout his life that he needs.
