Blogger Tutorial #3: How to Remove Date and Time Stamp From Blog Posts

Deciding whether or not to have the date stamp visible on your blog post will all depend on the type of blog you have. I have gone back and forth with this. Many people decide to remove the date and time stamp on their individual blog posts because it looks cleaner. I think that if you have a business, photography or instructional blog, removing the date stamp will make the page look more professional. I had mine removed for a long time and decided to bring it back to my blog because I do a lot of journaling and I would like to have the date present when I look back at my posts or if I decide to create a book from my blog.

The good news is that the options for changing this are now incredibly easy. There use to be a code you would insert into the HTML of your blog to hide the visibility of the time and date stamp. Now, it's just a matter of a few simple clicks.

1. Go to the 'Design' tab in your dashboard. In the section that says 'Blog Posts', click on the 'edit' button in the lower right corner.

2. A small window will pop up. These are all of your options for your blog post settings. The first item listed is the date. This is the date stamp that appears under your post title. Uncheck the box next to it. This will indicate that you do not want the date appearing under your post title in your post.

Click 'Save' and you are done. if you ever want to change it back, just follow the same directions and re-check the box for it to appear again. You can also choose the format of how you want the date to look.

  1. You don't need to, Mafooz. Do it this way and the code will change itself. Very easy.

  2. Unfortunately Google has done away with these tabs (at least in our account), so I am still seeking a way to clean up my companies articles by doing away or minimizing these date stamps
