Nashville City Cemetery

As I mentioned in my last post, one of the places we visited during my birthday weekend was the Nashville City Cemetery. This place is gorgeous!!! Finding beautiful places with a rich history is my absolute favorite, and this one is easy to miss since it's in the middle of the city.

This cemetery is the resting place for many people, including many historical figures.  According to the website, "among those interred in the cemetery are two of Nashville's founders, four Confederate generals, one Tennessee Governor, and twenty-two mayors of Nashville. Also buried there are numerous soldiers, schoolteachers, former slaves, early civic leaders, and other interesting citizens of Nashville."

If you are in Nashville and love walking among some beautiful scenery, you will definitely want to check this place out. I'm not sure if there is an actual parking lot for the cemetery, if so, we couldn't find it. However, there were other places to park that were only a short walk (I'm not talking paid parking, either). It's worth it, especially in the Autumn. Not to mention, the sense of peace of tranquility you feel as you stroll through, knowing that long ago it was anything but. I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
